PARTNERS National Health Plans of North Carolina, Inc. Signs New Long-Term Contract with HealthTrio, Inc

HealthTrio's first customer sees value in long-term commitment.  

Winston-Salem, NC and Denver, CO – December 20, 2005 - HealthTrio announced today that it was awarded a new long-term contract to continue to provide HealthTrio connect™, an e-health connectivity solution, to PARTNERS National Health Plans of North Carolina, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.

PARTNERS first introduced HealthTrio connect to its physicians’ offices in January of 2000 to maximize efficiency and improve service.  The interactive functionality of this Web-based technology enabled them to handle the following on-line: referrals and authorizations, eligibility and benefits verifications, claims verifications, and claims submissions.  These transactions make up the major share of administrative costs.  Streamlining operations and automating transactions not only reduces costs, but increases provider access and provider satisfaction. Providers experienced benefits from the ease and speed of communicating via the Web.

PARTNERS also uses HealthTrio connect for secure messaging, reporting and analysis, and enrollment. HealthTrio will continue to provide this functionality under the terms of the new contract.
