HealthTrio, LLC Personal Health Record chosen for CMS Pilot for Medicare
Beneficiaries
Centennial, CO – October 15 , 2007 –
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has selected QSSI as the
prime contractor for a Pilot project to introduce a Personal Health Record for
Medicare Fee-For-Service Beneficiaries in the State of South Carolina.
The QSSI team - which includes HealthTrio, LLC, Palmetto GBA and IBM - will
utilize HealthTrio, LLC industry-leading software and leverage Palmetto GBA’s
expertise with CMS claims data to provide a Personal Health Record (PHR) that
will contain a beneficiary’s most recent two years of claims data. QSSI will
develop a provider and beneficiary outreach campaign to ensure that these
seniors have access to their personal health record.
The pilot program will give participating seniors online access to an integrated
and comprehensive view of their health information regarding medical conditions,
medical procedures, hospitalizations, and doctor visits as part of an overall
push by CMS toward a Medicare-wide adoption of Personal Health Records. “We are
excited to be working with CMS, QSSI, Palmetto GBA and IBM to improve the
overall quality of healthcare to Medicare Beneficiaries.” said Dr. Malik Hasan,
HealthTrio, LLC President and CEO. “I am confident that the successful
implementation of the HealthTrio, LLC PHR solution will empower Medicare
Beneficiaries to better manage their on-going healthcare needs and bring us
closer to a patient-centric healthcare."
